Art and creative activities contribute to all aspects of the curriculum often acting as a stimulus. The children are provided with a variety of materials and media in which to work, allowing them opportunities for creative expression.
As the children progress through the school they will be encouraged to be discriminating in their choices and to develop different skills and techniques. Classes are taught an art lesson each week by a specialist artist. Children are also able to visit local galleries (e.g. Tate Modern, National Gallery) to support their learning and appreciation of art. We encourage children to enter competitions and have been lucky enough to win awards in the Fourth Plinth (Trafalgar Square) competition. All members of the community have been involved in The Big Draw.
